What is this?
Hello,
I hope this finds you well! I wasn't sure who to write but thought you might be able to pass this along to your cyclists and networks.
My
name
is
Jenn
Gibbons and I am the Executive Director a Chicago non profit called
Recovery on Water
(ROW), a rowing team for survivors of breast cancer. Regular exercise has been shown to reduce cancer recurrence in patients treated for breast cancer by up to 50%. ROW provides exercise programs for cancer survivors 6 days a week, year round at no cost: in rowing shells on the Chicago River during the spring, summer, and fall, and on indoor rowing machines during winter months.
Last year we started a cycling tour around Lake Michigan called
Bike4ROW
. Cyclists can participate in a one day ride, one week ride (we get them to and from the locations) or all 15 days around the Lake. This year's Bike4ROW will take place from July 26- August 9.
We have two pace groups, available to just about any fitness/cycling ability group. The ride is fully supported by two vehicles and a bus for everyone's gear, plus we cover breakfast, lunch and hotels. Plus- it's a lot of fun! :) The website has more details at
www.bike4row.org
.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could pass this on to your athletes and supporters. P
lease direct any questions or interest my way. It's a great ride that supports a local organization changing the lives of Chicago's breast cancer survivors....and we need your help is spreading the word!
GO ROW.
